on a wet and rainy Saturday I dragged my family past a series of other chip shops and restaurants just to reach the Anstruther fish bar, with childhood memories spurring me on. To be honest I was quite concerned about whether it could possibly live up to expectations and reputation, and given the huge queue, feeling the pressure of a... More

I was at uni in St Andrews and my flat mates came from Anstruther so I have been here before - many years ago! It is still a great fish and chip shop. We visited one rainy Saturday in November with relatives, including a Canadian lady who had heard about it and wanted to try. We ate in at lunchtime... More

Saturday, 2nd. November, I went with my wife, daughter and daughter's boyfriend for a meal. It was my first ever visit and after driving from Kirkcaldy in the pouring rain, receiving a drenching whilst running from the car park, we entered beautifully clean and tidy premises to find that the weather had chased so many people indoors that there was... If you're visiting Anstruther you have simply got to have fish & chips from the Anstruther Fish Bar. They're absolutely delicious!! We always have take away and then eat them outside on the benches across the road. Good size portions and very tasty. A must!!!!!

originally from Wick on the North East coast I know what quality fresh fish is all about. I hate to admit that this place constantly serves up the best. either in carry out or sitting in.

After reading mixed reviews i was in two minds about making the trip from St Andrews to Anstruther but so glad we decided to brave the elements, yes there was a wait but the fish and chips were excellent, both in terms of taste and also value for money. Highly recommended!

Worth a visit, sat in the restaurant really tasty fish, batter and chips. Friendly staff and a decent portion size. Ordered 2 ice creams as well, kids enjoyed it. Speedy service. Would go back.

We found other fish and chips about as good as at Anstruther Fish Restaurant, but none better. On our latest visit I tried the fish cakes and chips and they were delicious. It will be hard to choose between the fish cakes and the haddock next time. A must stop in the area.

Great food and a wonderful atmosphere. We sat in and the service came with a smile and a warm welcome. Try mid afternoon to avoid a wait
